Paris hosts regular session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage
As earlier reported, the ninth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage launched in Paris at the headquarters of UNESCO.
Azerbaijan is represented by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Sevda Mammadaliyeva and Head of International Relations and Cultural Affairs Department of the Ministry Vasif Eyvazzade.
The Committee began its consideration of proposals for the inclusion of new elements in the two lists - List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding and the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on Tuesday.
The event will discuss future implementation mechanisms of 2003 Convention, reports submitted by the member states on the implementation of the Convention, the Representative list on Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.
At the same time, voluntary contributions to Intangible Cultural Heritage Fund, work plans for 2014 of consultative and subsidiary bodies will be reviewed within the session.
The final decision will be made on representative list on Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO and nominations submitted by countries for including to the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding.
The session will also focus on accreditation and evaluation of non-governmental organizations, the date of the 10th session of the Committee and the selection of committee Bureau members of the 10th session.
The session will end on November 28.
