THE SECOND CONGRESS OF THE NEW AZERBAIJAN PARTY
The second Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party was held on November 21, 2001 in Baku city.
The congress has decided unanimously to go to the presidential elections to be held in 2003 with the candidature of Mr. Heydar Aliyev, the Presdent of Azerbaijan Republic, the chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party.
There was reviewed the organizational matter in the congress and Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the deputy of the National Assembly, the vice-president of Azerbaijan State Oil Company and the president of the National Olympic Committee was elected to the post of the first deputy of the chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party.
Mr. Heydar Aliyev, the chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party appeared with a speech in the congress.
The congress joined by 1952 representatives elected from the party's organizations embracing all administrative districts of Azerbaijan.
